Global Education Through the University of New Mexico Center for Global Health
The University of New Mexico Center for Global Health, which PMHS-USA actively supports, trains the next generation of global health researchers and clinicians.
The Center participates in the HBNU Fogarty Global Health Training Program (D43TW010543), which offers 12-month mentored research fellowships in low- and middle-income countries for U.S. pre- and post-doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows from LMICs.
Fellowship Program: Infectious Disease and Inflammation Program (IDIP) The IDIP pairs trainees with experienced mentors. Based at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center—the only academic medical center in New Mexico with more than 900 major research projects—the program draws on the strengths of six departments to support basic, clinical, and translational research.
These education programs provide high-quality training that advances global health research and builds lasting capacity.
