Leadership

Dr. DJ Perkins – Founder & Chair

Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Founding Director of the University of New Mexico Center for Global Health, and Founder and Chair of WPMHS, Dr. Perkins brings over 24 years of experience in pediatric and maternal health, infectious diseases, and translational research.

Scott Messer – Treasurer

Attorney and Director of Building and Zoning for the City of Columbus, Ohio. With more than 20 years of experience serving other nonprofit organizations, Mr. Messer brings valuable legal knowledge, organizational insight, and a strong commitment to good governance to the PMHS board.

Arthur Armstrong, MD, PhD – Secretary

Dr. Armstrong brings 23 years of clinical practice and medical research experience across Pennsylvania and Ohio. His combined background in patient care and research strengthens PMHS’s focus on practical, evidence-based solutions in pediatric and maternal health.

Dr. Samuel Bonuke Anyona – Board Member

Biomedical scientist and faculty member at Maseno University with over 20 years of experience in maternal and child health research. He specializes in infectious diseases and has led programs that translate scientific discovery into real-world impact for underserved communities. At WPMHS, he provides strategic leadership to strengthen locally driven, evidence-based care.

John Cassidy – Board Member

Financial Specialist.

Kristina Rose Brumfield – Board Member

Ms. Brumfield has extensive experience organizing and leading fundraising efforts for organizations that support fallen officers, the Fraternal Order of Police, and camps serving children with chronic illnesses. Her background in community fundraising, event coordination, and nonprofit outreach brings valuable skills in resource development and relationship-building to PMHS.

Kristan Schneider, PhD – Board Member

Professor in Data Analytics Management at University of New Mexico and with the UNM Center for Global Health.

Steven Petrosino, PhD

Dr. Petrosino has worked as a scientist in the pharmaceutical field and is a specialist in nutritional supplements. He has also served on the board of the Arthritis Foundation. His combined experience in scientific research, nutritional science, and nonprofit board leadership brings valuable expertise in healthcare innovation and organizational governance to PMHS.
